I first met Engela and Cameron when they approached us to craft Engela’s engagement ring; a customised take on our Dawn Ring set with three well-loved gems, a diamond and two emeralds from Cameron’s grandmother’s ring.
Just less than a year later we gathered around our consultation table again to chat about their wedding rings! A Lord of the Rings band for Cameron and two Domed Bands to frame Engela’s engagement ring.
Being a part of their journey to the isle was as special as the couple themselves. Every element of their handcrafted wedding has a story to tell.
“The locket that I wore belonged to my late paternal grandmother, she gifted it to my mother, and it was my borrowed item on the day. If you zoom in a lot, you might notice that my mom and I based the pattern of the (yes, hand) embroidery on my bodice on the pattern on the locket. And then, of course, Cameron's maternal grandmother's gems are in my ring! My maternal grandmother, who was a wedding dress maker and business owner, lives on through my mom's skill. I also have her names, Engela Helena.
The only machine embroidery we did on my dress was of little patterns that we incorporated in small spaces, namely a D20 dice, a book, orange slice, Kanji for Samurai...all meaningful symbols to me and Cameron.
I can truly say that our wedding was handmade...starting with our amazing rings made by you, to my dress, the desserts lovingly made by Cameron's mom, and down to the bouquets and buttonholes that we improvised on that morning (and yep, you bet we had no experience in florals).”
Thank you to Engela and Cameron for sharing these photos of their special day and we wish them a lifetime of happiness.
